About Us

J.F. Mackie & Company Ltd. is an independent equity investment firm based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We provide customized portfolio management and investment services to private clients and institutional investors and financial advisory services to early stage companies. J.F.Mackie & Company Ltd. was established in August 2000 and although a relatively young company, our team possesses extensive investment management experience with some client relationships dating as far back as 30 years.

J.F. Mackie & Company Ltd. is a member of the IIROC – Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada and the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (“CIPF”).

J.F. Mackie & Co. Ltd. is registered in the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. In accordance with securities regulations J.F. Mackie will not open accounts in jurisdictions in which it is not registered. J.F. Mackie & Company Ltd. may from time to time issue third party research and complies with IIROC Policy 11, Requirement 2 with respect to all applicable regulatory disclosures.

For regulatory purposes, self regulatory organizations including Market Regulation Services Inc., the Investment Dealers Association of Canada, the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada, Bourse de Montreal Inc., and the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (collectively, "SROs") require access to personal information of current and former clients, employees, agents, directors, officers, partners and others that has been collected or used by Regulated Persons. SROs collect, use or disclose such personal information obtained from Regulated Persons for regulatory purposes, including:

  • Surveillance of trading-related activity,
  • Investigation of potential regulatory and statutory violations,
  • Regulatory databases,
  • Enforcement or disciplinary proceedings,
  • Reporting to securities regulators, and
  • Information-sharing with securities regulatory authorities, regulated marketplaces, other self-regulatory organizations and law enforcement agencies in any jurisdiction in connection with any of the foregoing.
